Easy Apple Cider

Gather Fresh ApplesUse a variety of apples for a balanced flavor. Sweet and tart apples together make the best cider. Ensure they are fresh and washed.

Core and Chop ApplesRemove the cores and chop the apples into small pieces. This helps them cook evenly and release their juices effectively during the simmering process.

Simmer with SpicesAdd the chopped apples to a large pot with water, cinnamon sticks, and cloves. Simmer for about an hour until the apples are soft and fragrant.

Mash the ApplesUse a potato masher to mash the softened apples in the pot. This helps extract all the delicious juices and blends the flavors of the spices and apples. –

Strain the MixturePour the mashed apple mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a bowl. Press down to extract as much liquid as possible, leaving behind the pulp.

Sweeten to TasteTaste your cider and add sugar or honey if desired. Stir well until the sweetener is fully dissolved. Adjust the sweetness according to your preference.

Serve and EnjoyPour your simple homemade apple cider into mugs. Enjoy it hot for a cozy treat or let it cool and serve over ice. Garnish with a cinnamon stick for a festive touch.
