Cheese and Hamburger Macaroni

Ingredients ½ pound lean ground beef, or more to taste ½ small onion, minced 1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder salt and ground black pepper to taste 2 cups water 2 cups elbow macaroni

8 ounces reduced-fat processed cheese food (such as Velveeta®), cut into small pieces 2 tablespoons reduced-fat sour cream, or more to taste

Directions Gather all ingredients.

Heat a big skillet on medium-high. In the hot skillet, brown and crumble ground beef, onion, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper for 5–7 minutes; drain and discard fat.  

Turn heat up high. Mix water with ground beef in skillet. Cover and boil. Combine pasta and boiling water-ground beef.  

Cover, reduce heat to medium, and cook 5 minutes. Stir, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes to tenderize macaroni.  

Mix processed cheese with ground beef-macaroni until melted. Remove from heat; add sour cream.
